When a recording of then-GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump leaked just one month before the November election containing lewd, inappropriate comments regarding the treatment of women he made in 2005, the far-Left and no shortage of fellow Republicans were outraged — outraged — that a man could talk like that.
“I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump said in a conversation with “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush, in regards to an attractive young lady they both had just seen. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”
“And when you’re a star, they let you do it,” Trump is heard saying. “You can do anything.”
“Whatever you want,” says another voice, apparently Bush’s, the Washington Post reported.
“Grab them by the p—y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
Trump apologized, said he wasn’t a “perfect person,” and tried to move on. But of course, the “outraged Left” wouldn’t let him.
“These might be Donald Trump’s most disgusting comments yet about women,” said a HuffPost headline, which typified the Alt-Left media’s response.
And the New York Times dutifully reported what Democratic rival Hillary Clinton’s response was:
Mrs. Clinton’s campaign condemned Mr. Trump forcefully for the comments captured on the recording. Her running mate, Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia, said in response to the remarks, “It makes me sick to my stomach.”
And the rest is history — some of it ancient history, such as all the times Hillary Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, was accused of actual physical sexual harassment and rape, and who was, of course, impeached for lying under oath about having a sexual relationship in the White House with a young intern named Monica Lewinski. (Related: Same Left-Wing Media Excoriating Bill O’Reilly Over Harassment Claims Was SILENT When Bill Clinton Was Accused Of Rape And Assault By Multiple Women.)
Now, liberal movie-making icon Harvey Weinstein, who visited the Obama White House and met with the president scores of times, and who also donated often to various Clinton interests and campaigns, stands accused of decades of actual sexual harassment and all we hear coming from the Obamas and Clintons are crickets.
While some Democratic political hopefuls are donating money Weinstein gave them to other causes in an attempt to separate themselves from him and his long-term sexual exploits, other prominent Leftists — in Hollywood, in the media, in Washington — who claimed to be mortified over Trump’s mere words are now sheepishly, and hypocritically, silent.
And frankly, as small a community as Hollywood is, there is absolutely no way the Clintons, the Obamas and anyone every associated with Weinstein couldn’t have known what a disgusting abuser he is. “It wasn’t a secret to the inner circle,” Kathy DeClesis, Bob Weinstein’s assistant in the early 1990s, told the Times.
The paper, in a report just days ago, claimed that Weinstein has been paying off sexual harassment accusers for decades:
An investigation by The New York Times found previously undisclosed allegations against Mr. Weinstein stretching over nearly three decades, documented through interviews with current and former employees and film industry workers, as well as legal records, emails and internal documents from the businesses he has run, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.
The behavior included propositioning Ashley Judd 20 years ago, then a young, aspiring actress, asking her if she could watch him shower and if he could give her a message. Over the years, dozens of other women were similarly harassed.
“There is a toxic environment for women at this company,” wrote Lauren O’Connor in a highly critical memo accusing her boss of serial sexual harassment and other misconduct. “I am a 28-year-old woman trying to make a living and a career. Harvey Weinstein is a 64-year-old, world famous man and this is his company. The balance of power is me: 0, Harvey Weinstein, 10.”
The paper found that he reached at least eight settlements with women, according to two company officials who spoke to the Times on the condition of anonymity, no doubt to protect their jobs. Among them, the Times found, “were a young assistant in New York in 1990, an actress in 1997, an assistant in London in 1998, an Italian model in 2015 and Ms. O’Connor shortly after, according to records and those familiar with the agreements.”
What’s more, in public Weinstein was an uber-Leftist who, like other uber-Leftists, present themselves as holier-than-thou champions of women. According to all of the accusations against him, that’s obviously not the case; in fact, besides sexually harassing them, the Times reported he was also prone to hashing out verbal abuse.
So what about the Clintons and the Obamas? Where is their outrage? Or other Left-wing Democratic politicians like Barbara Boxer, Charles Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton, Cory Booker, and Kirsten Gillibrand. (Gillibrand, by the way, has been all over the Pentagon for what she says is its lack of due attention given to military sexual harassment — how’s that for mega-hypocrisy?)
We’re pretty sure there won’t be any. And why? Because these people are hypocrites. They save all of their angst for people like conservative Fox News Channel hosts and officials like Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly.
How do we know? Because it’s their modus operandi; ignoring similar disgusting behavior by other libs has happened before.
